The “Planet Earth Report” connects you to headline news on the science, technology, discoveries, people and events changing our planet and the future of the human species.

“Visitor from an Alien Star” –The Sequel

Interstellar Comet Borisov

“I don’t see extraterrestrials as more speculative than dark matter or extra dimensions,” says Harvard’s Avi Loeb, who has spent much of his extraordinary career searching for alien life. “I think it’s the other way around.”

The Galaxy Report –“Alien Worlds to Are Humans a Genetic Accident?”

ESO Chile

Insights from the world’s leading scientists on evolution, climate change, technology and extraterrestrial life. We are the only species of the billions of species that have existed on Earth that has shown an aptitude for radios and even we failed to build one during the first 99% of our 7 million year history, says Australia National University’s Charley Lineweaver.

“Alien Evolution” –Advanced Life Will Mirror Homo Sapiens

Prometheus Movie

Scientists are making predictions about the biological make-up of advanced, complex aliens, offering a degree of insight as to what they might look like. In Ridley Scott’s movie Prometheus stunning opening, the Engineer, the blue muscle-bound alien, mirrors a modern human, standing by the waterfall drinking black goo to break down his genetic structure and spread life on Earth through his DNA. What we see is the beginning is the creation of Earth. The giant ship has landed on early Earth to drop off the Engineer to terraform the planet and make it sustainable for life.

NASA’s Ultra-Violet Search for Extraterrestrial Life

NGC 6826

Astronomers with NASA’s new SISTINE Mission are targeting M-dwarf stars in their search for extraterrestrial life. Smaller and colder than our Sun, M-dwarfs generate intense ultra-violet light and account for nearly three-quarters of the Milky Way’s stellar population. To understand exoplanets that orbit them, scientists simulated Earth-sized planets circling M-dwarfs. Differences from Earth quickly emerged.
