In the quiet town of San Carlos, California, a colossal Maine Coon named Finn is making waves with his astonishing size and charismatic personality. At an incredible 1.3 meters long, Finn is as big as a 9-year-old child, leaving everyone who encounters him in awe. His owner, Natalie Bowman, lovingly describes Finn as a gentle giant whose heart is as big as his frame.

A Cat That’s Bigger Than Your Average Dog

Walking through the streets of San Carlos with Finn is always an event. “People think he’s a dog at first,” Natalie shared. “Then they get closer and realize it’s a cat. It always catches people by surprise, and they just love him.” Finn’s towering stature has earned him celebrity-like attention in the neighborhood, where his walks have become something of a spectacle.

Finn wasn’t always this enormous. When Natalie adopted him in 2017, he was a tiny 3-month-old kitten. But as a Maine Coon, a breed famous for their large size and striking appearance, Finn grew rapidly. By adulthood, he reached an imposing size that far surpasses most household cats.

Finn The Cat

A Gentle Giant with a Love for Cuddles

Despite his imposing frame, Finn’s personality couldn’t be more approachable. Natalie describes him as “really funny, always wanting cuddles, and having this goofy, endearing quality.” His playful nature and constant need for affection make him a favorite not only in the Bowman household but also among neighbors and visitors.

Finn’s affectionate nature sometimes leads to separation anxiety, a common trait in pets deeply bonded with their owners. On days when being left alone becomes too much, Natalie takes Finn to her workplace, where he’s become an unofficial mascot. The office staff and clients alike enjoy his presence, and Finn seems to thrive on the attention.

Feeding a Cat of Epic Proportions

A cat as large as Finn requires a diet to match. Natalie spends approximately $150 a month on his meals, feeding him 3 to 4 times daily. “He’s a big foodie,” Natalie remarked. “He’s always ready for his next meal.” Finn’s enthusiasm for food reflects his playful and robust character, making him a delight to care for despite his unique needs.

A Star in the Neighborhood and Beyond

Finn’s unique combination of size, beauty, and personality has made him a sensation far beyond his local neighborhood. Visitors to Natalie’s home often compare him to a lynx or wildcat, given his striking appearance. However, Finn’s demeanor is anything but wild. He’s calm, friendly, and deeply sociable, happily interacting with guests and Natalie’s other cat.

“Finn’s size might be the first thing people notice,” Natalie says, “but his personality is what truly wins them over.”

The Internet Can’t Get Enough of Finn

Whether he’s strolling the streets of San Carlos, snuggling with Natalie, or basking in the admiration of his many fans, Finn embodies the phrase gentle giant. His larger-than-life presence reminds everyone who meets him that cats come in all shapes and sizes—and sometimes, those sizes are truly extraordinary.

If you find yourself in San Carlos, keep an eye out for Finn. Spotting him in the wild might just be the highlight of your day.

  1. Oh my, Finn you are just gorgeous! Your gorgeousness contiues down to your personality and demeaner!! I’ve wanted a Maine Coon for years. I love their faces! Their faces are different from domestic cats. Maie Coons, give great face!! I also love those fuzzy feet of yours, yes I do!! Do you know who, Mr. Vivo is Finn and your Hooman too? If not, go check him out. Google, “Mr. Vivo.” Maybe you 2 can be friends. Perhaps, a career or sumpin like that. teeheehee… Buh Bye, Finn you handsome man, you!!

  2. What an awesome magnificent kitty!!!! I had my Maine Coon fur 18 years and he didn’t know he was a CAT!! A special bond that only cat lovers understand, these majestic beauties are the loves of our life never to b forgotten. Thank you fur sharing him with all of us he is beyond GORGEOUS!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!

  3. I have ginger Maine Coon boy called Flynn and mackerel tabby Maine Coon girl called Zoyah , 5 and 4 years old respectively.
They’re like our children, they’re so human like in terms of how they interact with you, sometimes you forget they’re Cats.

  4. Beautiful boy, lucky you. What does he weigh?
I had half-Main Coone twins, Ginger was the bigger at 9+kgs, he was 1.3 metres, the 30cm being his tail. He was the gentlest of cats & he & his brother loved our Border Collie who “raised” them from 4 weeks of age.
They always slept near our dog whenever she rested.

Sadly Ginger died at age 6 of a blood clot; Vet said many large cats die of heart problems because their size requires their heart to work harder. I couldn’t go through that heart-break again; I loved him very much.
Ginger’s brother was B & W, was as long but thin at only 8kg. He lived until 13, diabetes killed him. He was Mr Personality & very people friendly.

(I currently have 3 Manx cats who are also easy to train & no long tails to trip over! And the twin Manx are miniatures, such a change from Maine Coone.
My daughter has several “ordinary” tabby cats who are huge, all around 10-12kg, & not fat. )

  5. I’m so jealous. I’ve never seen a cat like him Hes like a beautiful lion! I thought my 20 lb Bengal was big.

  6. Your fur baby is absolutely beautiful. I’d never heard of a Maine koon until my now fiancee got together and at first I thought he may be exaggerating just a little bit but he was not. He loved his Dennis more than anything and said it felt like losing his best friend when he was gone. More than anything I’d love to get him another Maine koon but they are ridiculously expensive but for good reason. How incredibly lucky you are to own such an incredible fur baby. Give that big ol fur baby lots of love from Virginia

  7. He is so handsome. I adopted a little very sick kitten from the SPCA in San Francisco. He was all personality and when he survived his illness he grew to stretch from my ankles to my chin lying on me to watch tv. He was a ginger Tom and Maine coon, but not as big as Finn. Scruffy talked to me all the time and whenever I came home he would be waiting on the stairs and say “hello” as clearly as a human. It made my mother stagger backwards when she walked in, despite the fact that I told her he greeted us with a very clear hello. God I miss him. Thanks for sharing Finn!

  8. What a handsome cat. I have a ragamese flame point that is all about being carried around, he’s 18lbs of pure fluff and love. On the 28th I get to pick up my first maincoon and I named him Oliver after Oliver and company and he’s a hoot already. He’s only about 10w old. So still small. But I met his mom and dad, his dad is like a real life version of Garfield. The magnificent facial features he has and he’s a dark red. Ugh, my sis and I melted when he met him. His mom was a bit nervous. So we didn’t get to see her long. But the dad is a hugger. Oliver is a parkor kitten. He ran a lap around the room and came up behind me and jumped onto my leg and jumped off into the middle of the room to catch his toy that was hanging in the air. It was hilarious and such a kitten behavior. I love it. Im hoping my boys will bond and grow to enjoy each other. My current ragamese is 8, he was raised by my sisters ragdoll maincoon mix and so has a lot of the maincoon personality and behavior traits. But his siamese in his Def let’s you know when he needs to get his point across. I’m lucky, I have 5 kids in my home. So both cats will get lots of attention and love still.

  9. Now we have PROOF that those (“UFO”) sightings we’ve been seeing in the News are REAL. There are (“Aliens”) amongst us, and his Name is “Finn”!
Honestly, though, I admire Finn & I Envy you for sharing your Life with Him.
God bless y’guys; & Merry Christmas everyone 🦋💜

  10. She appears in a nude embrace with the male cat. She should be aware that in most states this could be construed as an illegal act.

  11. I love Finn!!! He’s so cool! I’ve always wanted a Maine Coon cat, he looks like a big cuddle bunny, very surprised to see how big he is.🐱🐱🐱🐱😁

  12. @Pesak:
Get your mind out of the gutter. She’s laying under the covers and the cat is above the covers, for one thing. There is no way to tell what she is or isn’t wearing. She’s clearly not having physical intimacy with her cat. I don’t know where you’re from, but you have some strange ideas. Please keep them to yourself, and stop trying to insinuate your trash thoughts and police others. The world doesn’t need that.

  13. Thank you. How sick are some people? Really? Whoever it was that made that distatesful insinuation must have been raised in Alabama or Louisiana, where they still only make $7.50 an hour and got nothing meaningful to do but to shame others when typically they are the ones whose uncle is their cousin, their half brother and their grampa on their 2nd cousin’s mother’s side. Your twisted thoughts remind me of a new law enacted in California when a guy was arrested in downtown Sacramento for spending time trying to get to know a live chicken better. Chicken are now on the list of animals you can legally consume, but not consumate. Happy holidays!!!!

  14. I’ve had cats most of my life. We currently have one we think is part Maine coon. Gentle but not huggy unfortunately. Getting a litter box big enough for our boy was tough. Does a cat that big only go outside? If yes, do they let you know they need to go outside like dogs typically do?

  15. Our Leo the lion king is a Maine coon. He has been with us for 16 years and at his heaviest he was 30lbs. A big boy who chased the fox and deer off our property. Caught rabbits and ate then too. These days he is in and out constantly, eats and sleeps in his dedicated chair.

  16. We have had 3 Maine, male coon cats. We adored them. They were not that big, but they were wonderful companions and loved our dog too. I miss them, but as I age, I realize how much work it would be to have another. Great memories!

  17. Rose B- Are you seriously insulting the whole states of Alabama and Louisiana? You are no better than Pesak with that comment. Shame on you.

  18. Actually Rose B- I retract that statement of “shame on you” geaux fu k yourself is more of how I feel.
