"I suspect the universe is NOT a giant computer, either quantum or otherwise. The notion is just more opining (it's very far from theoretically rigorous) based on whatever scientific or technological arena is currently fashionable, the way electricity was thought to be maybe the secret of "the life force" when Mary Shelley write about Frankenstein's monster. Humans are addicted to thinking the latest discovery will finally explain everything. I guess we like the high."
