The Final Mission –Atlantis Touchdown Signals End of Historic USA Era


The U.S. space shuttle Atlantis touched down at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida around 6 a.m. Thursday, officially ending NASA’s space shuttle program. The program launched 135 flights over 30 years, sending355 astronauts into space. The Atlantis launched on its first mission in
1985. On its final mission, it dropped off a year’s supply of food and other supplies at the International Space Station.
